Swipework is a video-first job-matching platform that connects job seekers and employers in a more personal way.
During my internship, I worked on redesigning and developing the main Swipework website, improving the jobs.swipework platform and creating visual content for social media campaigns.
My work combined UX/UI design, research, web development and marketing, giving me the opportunity to explore different sides of the design process.

As a UX/UI designer, I was involved in projects from research to implementation.
I analyzed user experiences, explored opportunities for improvement and translated my findings into wireframes, prototypes and visual designs.
I redesigned and developed the Swipework website, worked on the redesign of jobs.swipework and created social media advertisements.
Alongside designing, I also contributed ideas to the marketing team and worked with developers to bring designs to life.
My biggest challenge was learning to work independently in a professional environment.
At school, there's often a clear assignment and someone to guide you. At Swipework, I had much more freedom and responsibility.
Suddenly, I had to take initiative, make decisions and figure things out myself.
It was challenging at first, but it pushed me to become more confident in my skills and trust my own design decisions.

My design process started with understanding the problem and identifying opportunities for improvement.
I explored user flows, analyzed existing experiences and conducted research to support my design decisions.
From there, I created wireframes and visual designs, discussed ideas with the team and refined my work based on feedback.
I then worked on translating those designs into responsive, functional websites using Framer, while also creating visuals for marketing campaigns.

The result? Work that actually went live.
Both the redesigned Swipework website and jobs.swipework are live and being used today. The social media advertisements I designed have also been used in real campaigns.
Seeing my research, ideas and designs turn into real digital experiences is something I'm incredibly proud of.
It's one thing to design something. It's another to see people actually use it.

Swipework taught me how to take ownership of my work and become more independent as a designer.
I learned to trust my decisions, take initiative and turn research into designs that could actually be implemented.
But my biggest takeaway was realizing that my work could make it beyond the design stage.
Seeing websites I helped create being used every day gave me confidence in my abilities and showed me how rewarding it is to bring ideas to life.
